The Kick-off Market at The Campus Ampang (25-27 April 2025)

From April 25 to 27, Babe’s Creation had the amazing opportunity to set up our little corner of crochet magic at The Campus Ampang.

It was three days filled with smiles, hugs (both real and plushie), and meeting so many wonderful people who share our love for handcrafted creations.

This was our very first time joining a bazaar at The Campus, and honestly? It was a whirlwind of excitement, nerves, and a lot of last-minute yarn fluffing behind the scenes!

We’re so grateful for everyone who dropped by our booth, supported small handmade businesses, and gave our crochet plushies new forever homes.

Thank you again for making this event so memorable for us. We can’t wait to be back at the next one!

Crochet Roses

My mom started making these rose petals to pass her time when I had the thought that perhaps we could make these roses in time for Mother's Day. She got really excited about it and was so motivated that she was crocheting the petals day and night. When I had enough of the petals, I put all the petals together to make a rose.

People started sending me messages about placing orders for these roses. When I told my mom, she got even more excited and started blabbing about how we should try other colours as well. We went to work immediately as we didn't just have to make enough for the orders already placed, we also needed to make enough for the upcoming bazaar on Mother's Day.

It was sold out! So, I guess the best gift my mom gotten for Mother's Day was a real satisfaction to bring the joy of handmade gifts to other mothers and also some pocket money she got from the sale.

Spotlight is a Crafter's Paradise

Imagine how excited I was!

We went to eCurve initially to get my new iPhone 6S. I was already on cloud nine but I got even more excited after I stepped into Spotlight. I don't know when they opened one here in Malaysia but I'm sure they're pretty new.

As we walked into the store, there were many household things to look at. It was when we reached the craft section that I just couldn't contain the joy of seeing all kinds of wools, yarns and threads! I wanted to keep it realistic as I only have a pair of hands. So, I only got some of these to begin a new project but I'll definitely be back for more!

Raya Themed Minions as Corporate Souvenirs

I've never crochet so many dolls in such a short time!

When we were at The Weld bazaar, a gentleman who worked in the office building came by our booth and enquired about the minion dolls we had on display. We didn't think much of it until they placed an order for over 500 minions and they wanted me to make them based on Raya theme.

I had no choice but to unleashed my own minions which include my partner who helped me sew and stuffed polyester into the crocheted yellow sacks we jokingly called "potatoes." My mom and sister helped me crochet the "potatoes."

After about two weeks of non-stop crocheting, my wrist suffered an injury and we had to request the client to allow us more time to deliver. We were lucky that they were so understanding, allowing us to deliver the remaining only after Raya. Phew! I just cannot imagine injuring my wrist further as it might be permanent and then I won't be able to crochet anymore.
